I’ve seen a very small amount of activity on the few warmer afternoons we’ve had lately, but wanted to take a quick peek inside to see if they made it through the winter, and if so, did they need a bit of feeding to help out before the nectar and pollen start showing up.

I took off the quilt box and didn’t see much at first, but after a moment they began to pour up onto the top of the frames to see what was going on.

Hello!

I didn’t bother to pull any frames to take a closer look. No need to disturb them more than necessary, and there appears to be a bit of capped honey present still. Going to give them their early spring Varroa treatment soon, and if things look good I can finally toss a second deep box on and get a proper honey super going to harvest later this year.
